Tuna casserole

Here's a classic and comforting Tuna Casserole recipe that's creamy, flavorful, and easy to make. It’s a perfect go-to dish for a cozy meal!

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained and flaked
  • 3 cups cooked egg noodles (or any pasta you prefer)
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup frozen peas (optional)
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs or crushed crackers
  • 2 tbsp butter (melted, for topping)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven: to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch casserole dish.

  2. Cook the pasta: Boil the egg noodles (or pasta of choice) according to the package directions. Drain and set aside.

  3. Mix the casserole:

    • In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, cream of mushroom soup, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
    • Fold in the cooked pasta and frozen peas (if using).
    • If you'd like to add shredded cheese, mix in half of it at this point.
  4. Assemble the casserole:

    • Pour the tuna mixture into the prepared casserole dish.
    • If using, sprinkle the remaining cheese on top.
  5. Prepare the topping:

    • In a small bowl, mix the breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers) with the melted butter and paprika.
    • Sprinkle this mixture over the top of the casserole for a crunchy topping.
  6. Bake: Bake the casserole for 25-30 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown on top.
